Geological Hydrogen Reservoir Exploration Summary & Baseline Method

Geological hydrogen reservoir (GHR) rock physics model, GHR EM generation (top image), seismic data generation through wave propagation, GHR signature derivation through synthesis of modeled seismic data (bottom image). The seismic data can be used for the GHR estimation via inversion. Note GHR can be replaced by oil, gas, brine, or mixture of the three fluid for comparative studies. To proprietors holders of seismic data seeking avenues for sustainable utilization of their sites:

The objective of the proposed research project is to develop a comprehensive geophysical approach for the identification and mapping of Geological Hydrogen Reservoirs (GHRs) by characterizing their seismic, gravity, and well log signatures. This effort is aimed at leveraging existing exploratory seismic, density, and well data to explore the potential for GHRs of biogenic origin associated with hydrocarbon basins, contributing to the broader understanding of hydrogen resource exploration and utilization.
